Just let us know in any written form such as email, text, or letter. Note that once a membership is canceled it cannot be reinstated for a minimum of 12 months and is subject to availability.

In order to provide the best possible care while at the same time saving you money, we are not able to accept any insurance. For a more in depth explanation please see FAQ question below about taking insurance.

For our patients on Medicare our membership fee is separate however, tests, medications, studies, and referrals are covered by your regular Medicare benefits.

The quick answer is ‘yes’. Members have been using HSA and FSA cards to pay for services under this monthly membership model for years. However, we recommend that you check with your accountant. We are happy to speak to them if they have any questions. For some additional information see below:
IRS document 213(d) https://bit.ly/3esjusv
Makes it very clear that payments to physicians are an allowed deductible insurance.
Per IRS document 502, http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p502.pdf
Medical expenses are the costs of diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, and the costs for treatments affecting any part or function of the body. These expenses include payments for legal medical services rendered by physicians, surgeons, dentists, and other medical practitioners. They include the costs of equipment, supplies, and diagnostic devices needed for these purposes.
For those reasons, we are confident that HSAs can be used in combination with DPC.

While everyone’s situation is different, for the vast majority of patients becoming a member of our practice saves money, time, and ultimately your health. For a sample cost comparison see below:

Membership Perks

As a patient of Private MD Care you will be entitled to:

24/7 Access to your physician via telephone, text, email, or video chat.

Housecalls. If you require an in-person visit, your physician will determine this during your encounter and a house call may be arranged for an additional fee and subject to physician’s availability. We guarantee that you will be seen in less than 24 hours, usually much sooner. Housecalls require a $149 additional fee during regular business hours or $249 for after hours.

Discounted Medications, Labs, and Testing. We have negotiated discounted rates on labs and testing. We pass those savings on to you! Typically we can save you 60-90% off of retail rates for labs and imaging. Unfortunately, Utah remains one of 4 states in the nation that doesn’t allow physician dispensing of medications however we have worked with a local pharmacy to provide similar discounts on most medications.

Vaccines and Immunizations. Along with discounted medications you have access to discounted vaccines and immunizations which are administered in the comfort of your home.

Our patients value peace of mind knowing that their doctor is just a text message away when someone in the family isn’t feeling 100%.

Cancer Screening. Age-appropriate cancer screening is vital to our long-term well-being. We assist with regular screening exams and tests. For those patients with family histories of cancer or just those interested, we also offer genetic testing to look for mutations that may predispose patients to specific cancers.*

Stress Management. As part of our holistic approach, we believe stress management is vital to prevent illness, and we provide a number of individualized techniques for stress management.

However, in the event that you need specialist care, we will work directly with your specialist and ensure that there is close communication and coordination of care every step of the way.

As Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine physicians we are trained to care for both children and adults. We enjoy our newborn patients as well as those older adults in need of end of life care and everyone in-between.

Insurance

Membership with Private MD Care is NOT health insurance. We recommend that you maintain some form of health insurance, which would cover you in the event of a heart attack, stroke, serious accident, or cancer care. We strive to provide true health care, with an emphasis on care. As full scope primary care physicians we are able to meet around 90% of your health care needs. We promise a hassle-free health care experience and a level of service that can’t be beat.

No, we don’t bill or use health insurance at Private MD Care. We follow a Direct Primary Care model which allows us to focus on delivering excellent health care services, focusing on you as an individual. We have 1 hour appointments so that we can really get to know who you are and understand your health goals, and help you meet those health goals. Because we aren’t rushed to see 20-25 patients in a day we can take the time to address all of you concerns and approach your health in a more holistic way.

For our patients on Medicare our membership fee is separate however, tests, medications, studies, and referrals are covered by your regular Medicare benefits.

In most cases the answer is ‘yes’. By combining your membership with a high deductible/catastrophic plan or a health cost sharing plan can save significantly over a traditional health insurance plan. Everyone’s situation is different. You can reach out to us with your unique situation and we would be happy to help you see how much you could save over your current plan.

Employers

Of course! If you have an organization of 5 or more we can offer you special employee membership rates. Reach out to us for more information by filling out our contact form.
